A rare and beautiful antique hand lantern / candle lantern, complete and in working condition, likely dating from the early 1900s.
This is a very solid and distinctive model, featuring both a fixed top handle and a foldable rear handle — a practical and unusual combination. It also has a hanging loop at the top as well as an additional bracket at the back.
What truly sets this lantern apart is the exceptional semi-circular faceted glass. Most lanterns of this type are fitted with flat glass panels that slide into grooves, but this example features a striking curved, faceted lens — a rare and elegant detail. The design of the roof is also particularly refined and decorative.
Includes original candle holder.
Naturally, it shows light signs of age and use, which only enhance its authentic character and charm. A wonderful addition to a collection or a beautiful atmospheric lighting piece for an interior setting.
